the GazettE

You can just go to pinterest, type “brutalism graphic design” and find some the original assets that were used used in various Gazette materials, no art is truly original.

wow i remember when that album came out. i was in middle school and i couldn’t afford the shipping fees cuz it was so oversized… fast forward to a couple years ago and I saw it at a BOOK OFF for really cheap but decided against buying it since i had nowhere to store this huge ass box.

i can’t believe that was more than 10 years ago now. i wish i had been a better fan :frowning:

If it makes you feel a little better, the packaging is incredibly annoying to deal with. Each lyric sheet is an individual folded poster, the actual CD/DVD are packaged in a separate 4-panel sleeve, and the box is a hassle to open with the plastic cover. Not their best idea honestly.

This album is tucked in the corner of a coffee table, never to be opened. Annoyance for real!

Looks like their next album may take a longer while :worried:

I’m just wondering since Reita is no longer around how will the bass be played in their future live performances. Iirc Ruki said that they won’t be using a support bassist.

They will pre-record his parts, I guess. Like they most likely have been doing for months.

I have thought this as well, not sure itll be the same without him and not sure i want to see them without him. Even watching their live dvds from the past with him makes me feel weird, like every time i am just so grateful that he was part of the band and brought such energy and spirit to the show and knowing he wont be there to play his part again is just sad man…

I travelled to Japan to see them live for their anniversary for the first time. I feel it was too late because I wouldn’t see all five of them anymore, but I don’t have any regrets now.

As a die-hard fan during the 2000s, I gradually moved on with life and got too busy to keep up with their stuffs. The concert that night was a time slip into the past because they played many old songs like 幸せな日々, Silly God Disco, 枯れ詩, etc. All with the loss of one of them. However, they kept mentioning that they were five persons, like Reita was never away. It brought back a lot of nostalgia. I was in tears.

With all the upcoming shows being limited to Heresy and only in Japan, there is no doubt they are going through a phase. It is as though they are withdrawing to a closed community with the same circle of fans and those fans only. I don’t see a need for them to cross that boundary to get outside Japan anymore. If you are financially capable of entering their circle, pay and get into it. Travel to Japan once in a while when they have concerts. And that’s it. Even as we grow old, the system would just be as superficial.

I don’t see this as a reason for these decisions.
I don’t wanna say it might not be a reason for the band members though (I make a big difference between the members and the marketing machine, the company, that is Gazette and when I say “they” I usually refer to the company, I’m pretty certain the members have a limited say when it comes to decisions; this also means when I critizise things, I don’t critizise the band members as individuals but the capitalist exploitation machinery, I hope that makes clear where I’m coming from when it’s about critizism).

They do focus more and more on Heresy limited stuff for years, that’s why I doubt this is basically about the situation.
And sadly too many people don’t have the money to get over to Japan (which again leads to capitalism and everyone being poor doesn’t matter because they get seen unworthy anyway). But I’ve said this before so I don’t want to elaborate on this but also couldn’t keep these thoughts to myself.

It’s really painful to see them without him. On the one hand, I can’t imagine anyone else in his place, but on the other hand, that empty spot… The hardest thing is, it seems like it’s hard for them too.

In case anyone was curious how they’ll look live with just the four of them, footage of the Kishidan Banpaku performance can be found by just googling Kishidan Banpaku The Gazette (I’m letting you know here because for the longest time I couldn’t find the thing myself)

I can’t believe it’s already been a year since Reita passed. Time moves so ridiculously fast.
