The General Metal Thread

It’s true what they say that bands don’t make money off of music anymore. They’ll make more from ads and merch and tickets than physical sales or downloads.

Yeah it’s a good marketing strategy.

Also I just realized 10 MVs damn.

Crazy. I’ve seen like four lol

Actually getting around to watching it and oh my god. To think this is three parts.

Yeah so God damn good.

What are the odds CJ drops something the week after Pain Remains comes out?

 that would be a bold move but imo an unwise decision, because it will be overlooked by most due to how enormously hyped Pain Remains is. For real I haven’t seen this much anticipation for a metal album in a long time.

Yeah maybe December or January. LS have the potential to put Deathcore back on the map and become extremely popular if this album takes off which it should because there hasn’t been a bad song yet.

The road to 2022 Lorna Shore, Chelsea Grin, and Signs of the Swarm is ridiculous.

I got introduced to these guys 4 years ago when their “The Offering” album. So glad that I reminded myself of Borealis when they announced the new album. Crossing my fingers it’ll be just as amazing!

I love the fact that this is a thing way too much. It’s very bouncy for slamming.

I have watched the entire series at least three times this year and it will eventually go back to being what’s on the tv all the time once Halloween is over and we get through SVU.

Same actually except and I swear I’m not just trying to one up you :joy: but I’ve rewatched it like probably 100 times. Early this year I was watching it every day. Recently took a break but the urge will return. Btw did you know a new series is in the works?

Yeah I did. I’ve seen it probably ten times since it first aired on Adult Swim. There’s an excellent podcast called The Order of the Straight Arrow: A King of the Hill Podcast you should check out. They made it about three seasons before going dark. They’re Canadian and everyone apparently moved to different places so it’s hard to get together anymore but what’s there is really good, I used to go to sleep to it.

I’m old lol I used to watch it on Fox back when it was new although back then I rarely watched it live, I mostly watched reruns. It and The Simpsons were the only “adult shows” I was allowed to watch.

How old? I saw one snippet of an episode when it first aired but I can barely remember it. I was 6-7.

To get back on topic before the mods come I’ve been trying out new bands and so far I’ve saved Bonecarver, Chelsea Grin, Emberthrone, Enterprise Earth, Immortal Disfigurement (that’s been there since it dropped and I play it daily.), Lorna Shore (CJ-Will era), A Night in Texas, Shadow of Intent, Signs of the Swarm (Just Disfigurement), Whitechapel’s Kin which might grow on me and I really enjoyed Worm Shepherd’s new album.

I’ll be 32 in a few days I guess we may be around the same age perhaps. I was 7 when it was airing.

Back on topic lol for anyone who hasn’t heard of the legendary band Faith No More they are an absolute must listen highly experimental and can be regarded as one of the easiest contributors to alternative metal and rock as well as nu metal, and performed MANY other generes as well.

The revival of Love Metal with VV has my nostalgia at critical mass.

Tom Barber is the most woke (in the old sense) (fka awake) mother fucker in metal/rock alongside maybe Roger Waters who’s done a ton for Palestine and tried to barter peace between Israel and Palestine and failed miserably. He made a good point on IG about how few people in the industry are actually anti authority and anti government etc and open to different perspectives and opinions etc and how many far left “woke” communists and socialists there are. :man_shrugging:t2:
