It does count. Thanks for sharing. I just think it looks nothing like VK, LOL. That’s just some scene kid look IMO. Wiki says this look was made to promote the Tokyo stage, so prolly the devs just made a very superficial japanese urban fashion research and that’s what came out of it.
“Free to Fly” by AKi from SID (シド) is being used in an ad for a home design company called RC Works (RCワークス):
Ayame (彩雨) from Matenrou Opera (摩天楼オペラ) posted on his socials that he composed music for the game SaGa: Emerald Beyond, that dropped last week for Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Windows
Found this YouTube channel about gyarus providing furitsuke (choreography) specifically for Visual Kei bands. They even take requests.
They also have a Twitter account where they post backstage trivia and reviews/curiosities about bands’ merch and stuff like that. It’s the kind of thing that is very interesting for a Visual Kei fan who’s not in Japan, because otherwise we would never have access to this kind of information, since bands rarely post about it themselves
Mao (vo) and Yuya (dr) from SID (シド) will be the guests of a show called anime stellar on Radio NHK 1 next Monday.
Meanwhile, their bassist AKi got new stuff for his Online Salon fan club called “Resonants”.
There are some other VK muscians there, such as kiyoharu, Mana and KOICHI NIIYAMA (ex-MEJIBRAY)
Besides the aforementioned opening theme, HYDE×MY FIRST STORY are also performing the new ending theme song “Eikyū -Tokoshie-” (Eternity -Eternity-) 『永久 -トコシエ-』, which premiered in the second episode of the Demon Slayer: Hashira Training Arc anime on Sunday.
Yuki Kajiura wrote the music and lyrics for the song, and also arranged the song.
no i need this is the link broken already

Try this: ヴィジュアル系ポケモン図鑑 - ニコニコ動画
DaizyStripper performing Setsubou no Freesia 『切望のフリージア』 & Kanojo wa Emerald" 『彼女はエメラルド』 on Canadian TV back in 2012. Actual live footage on studio. No playbacks. No hosts talking over it. No cutting songs in half. Dope stuff.
I don’t recall seeing any other VK band getting this kind of coverage outside of Asia
Just making sure this wasn’t the Mandela effect at work, but it was real after all lmaoo. This time they came over was the one where the band was apparently “stuck” in Canada unless they could get 5,000 retweets since they didn’t crack the Oricon Top 20.
Sounds harsh, but also sounds like a marketing stunt to me. This is ofc illegal/inhumane and wrong on so many levels that I doubt that even if their label actually did it they’d be allowed to post about it on their socials, given that generally bands’ socials are managed by the labels themselves and in the event that the band actually posted about it themselves the punishment would’ve been much harsher for exposing the label like that.
That being said, labels being toxic like that (or even worse) isn’t unheard of. This is one of the main reasons why so many bands disband so quickly, but I’m not buying it. Bandmen are also known for lying a lot (most of the times about tragic stuff) for attention.
Cocoa (ex.のらワン彼氏 (Nora One Kareshi)) has gone somewhat viral in Japan as he has announced his marriage to Tiktok influencer Alice (ありすてぃん), who is 10 years younger than him. Cocoa works as a host manager at No.9 SAPPORO.
I also wanted to point out that Takashi (VISUAL Kei Enka Kashu TAKASHI, ex.Noi’x) was spotted at a sumo tournament aired on NHK.
He was also spotted with notable mascot Chiitan!
Held in 2019, and yet nobody heard about it. Why do these Alberta anime cons invite bands, and not tell anyone? This isn’t the first time I’ve heard of this happening.
Animethon19 was held in 2012.
Chiitan sometimes collabs with VK artists:
He has a KISS cover band with other mascots that sometimes performs with VK bands (?)
Here’s a random pic of him with the dudes from an extinct session band called ZENSAI BOYS (dudes from FEST VAINQUEUR & Administrator/LEZARD) feat. HIRO wearing Cannibal Corpse patches LMAO!
And a video with Kiryu to promote some event/merch they did together:
ty for this and may no one ever again scroll past their music guy/gal in a screenshot of a sumo tournament without sharing
these are all old and i think i dont have enough for a separate jrock + sumo thread :
yoshiki consistently posing w/hakuhou greatest of all time
miyavi groping hakuhou, wow keep ur hands to urself
A trailer for the aforementioned anime called Tasūketsu (多数欠), for which Vivarush (ビバラッシュ) performs the opening theme song has been released, and in it you can hear a preview to the song
There’s a special link for the band in the anime’s OHP and they recently went to Anime Japan 2024 to promote it
The anime debuts on July 2nd
While digging through my media collection to decide what to part with for a garage sale, I found this issue of Alternative Press from March 2008 (although printed for distribution in February). It mentions the upcoming US leg of the Taste of Chaos tour; D’espairsRay, MUCC, and the Underneath as the Japanese being part of the lineup and a brief biography for each group.
