Elden Ring and Sims 3 for me LOL Time to take advantage of this new laptop to its fullest.
Completed Life is Strange 2 last month, it was way better than the first one imo. Now onto Life is Strange Colors. Only on chapter 3 and the “twist” in chapter 1 made me scream, housemate had to stop me from shutting down the console lol
Still playing FF14 and with every day that goes by, I feel more disappointed by the story of Endwalker. I did really enjoy patch 6.1 though and I’m hyped to see where it goes.
Completed Boyfriend Dungeon and am now playing Our Life New Beginnings and Always. Taking this one really slow because it’s the best otome/dating sim I’ve played in my life and it makes me feel too many things. The writing is excellent, hard to believe something as amazing as this is free to play (and the community is great too)
An obscene amount of the newly released in English “rhythm otome game” Enstars Music. I played the original game for a bit wwwwaaaayyy back in like, 2016, but there was too much text and it was all in Japanese so yeah . . .
Anyway, the funny thing is, there is a vk band and all of the dialogues are very… interesting . . . lots of “shout outs” too.
I’m still at chapter 2, but there’s this group called Crazy:B making fun of UNDEAD (that’s the vk group) for going neatly commercial, or something. It’s fun. (edit: just found out the dialogue went harder than this but then they changed it for something more … kid-friendly lol. Then again, isn’t the censorship 17+ ? Why did they have to try and make it more kid-friendly anyway … )
Also, it feels “realistic” compared to other idol gacha. It’s not the same old “we only exist to bring hope to people” bs it’s more like “hello! work hard to be a successful idol from now on because you are INDEBTED to this horrible company and it’s harder to pay them back if you end up at a coffee shop!” lol other than UNDEAD (and every group under Rhythm Link, they’re cool) I like Valkyrie too which is a gothic duo, reminds me of something like ALI PROJECT and in fact has music composed by them.
/ end free advertisement but really it’s very enjoyable so far
i literally clicked on this thread just to say enstars LMAO
Been playing Etrian Odyssey Nexus every spare second I have, it is becoming a problem
I am playing Postal: Brain Damaged. It’s really fun. I love retro style shooters
Checking out the super hyped Stray on PS Plus. I’m actually really enjoying this. The visual style, music, and environments are top notch and really immersive. Gameplay is pretty light and a little on-rails-y, but moving around feels really good.
The cat stuff honestly feels more like just fan service though and I wish they found a way to incorporate it as gameplay mechanics. Still haven’t finished it yet though, so maybe it gets a little more interesting.
Currently playing Sky (Children of the light)
And they have this curious Russian space station theme in a secret area. Which is unrelated to the game but totally cool imo.
Finished the Yuffie DLC from Final Fantasy 7 Remake Integrade. I enjoyed this so much more than the main game. Her playstyle is more fast paced and it feels really satisfying pulling off combos and chaining different attacks. The cutscenes look so damn good too. It feels like back in the PS1 days when getting to the CG cutscenes was like a treat for making progress because of how incredible they looked.
Ac2, spec ops the line, cry of fear, no more room in hell.
Me: Mom, can you buy me Elden Ring?
Mom: No, we have Elden ring at home
Obtained another white whale for my PS1 collection, Shadow Tower. FromSoft made some really good first person adventure games. The atmosphere for a PS1 title is really good and the game boasts those classic Souls-like mechanics such as item weight and durability that forces you to play well and use resources somewhat strategically.
I’ve been playing Warhammer 2 Total War. I am not a very good tactician also started playing retro bowl: https://retrobowl.pro/
Playing Project Sekai a normal amount. (not a normal amount.)
It’s no Project Diva but kinda fun regardless
Disco Elysium. I bought it just because it’s always on sale for cheap on Steam and it’s one of the few things that will run on my laptop. So far it’s okay, although I find it a bit hard to navigate around the map.
I’m playing the PS2 version of Baroque right now, I’ve owned it for years but hadn’t ever played that far into it - having a great time, a stylish and atmospheric dungeon crawler with a permeating sense of humor and a weird array of items and equipment to be randomly found at any time!
Really want to try to play Siren again before October ends…
Oh nice, I rented Baroque from the library when I was in high school and really liked it. Every now and then I think I’d like to give it another shot, since I didn’t get that far. I played the Wii version though.
I completed Scorn a few nights ago. It was…an experience. The visuals are out of this world. Walking around an otherwordly H.R. Giger-esque environment was beyond cool. The sound design also pulled me right in. So many fleshy, organic sounds and industrial whirrs and clanks.
The gameplay is pretty basic. But, everything in this game, from healing to solving puzzles, is done in such a visceral manner. I admittedly felt pretty uncomfortable playing through a lot of it.
Combat ranged from serviceable to bad, but I think it was designed this way. It was frustrating, but I did pick it up by the end. I’m honestly thinking about playing it again.
