Where in The World is Yoshiki?

“Outsiders looking in on the world of Yoshiki” is probably my favorite hyperniche genre of content

I’m not sure what’s the organic interest in Y’s work in the US at the moment, but if he paid for that little video bit, his “collections manager” should drop by and ask for the refund

With Yoshiki doing all these things, engraving his hands on the hollywood boulevard etc - do you consider him to be the god of japanese rock/vk?

He’s certainly the most globally famous Japanese rock star.

Of course

it’s not like our opinions matters lbr, he’s on the very very top of the foodchain over there, he is the foodchain for most of notable vk acts who wouldn’t otherwise even get started without senpai noticing them

we would simply switch to “oh, that’s just Yoshiki at it again” if there was any trace of life, like a heart meter still showing faint pulse, on that X record, instead of going full shitpost mode over here…

About an hour in and the YOSHIKI Classical 10th Anniversary World Tour with Orchestra 2023 “Requiem” WOWOW special is excellent. Toshi being replaced with a woman is interesting and adds a new dimension to X Japan songs.

It’s the same Filipina girl who sang in his classical concerts in Tokyo a few years back. As for the show itself…I’ll just say that to me, every new “classical” concert of Yoshikitty feels more lazy and phoned in than the previous. Lame set list IMO.

Going to assume REQUIEM will be YOSHIKI’s version of Bethoven’s unfinished sonata.

Are you sure

I don’t know how their relationship was in the last while between them but this tweet reads very selfish on Yoshiki’s part.
