I don’t know if anyone can fully put me in the cancellation camp, mostly bc if i can speak selfishly bro you don’t know how much i’m hoping there’s some misunderstanding or fabrication and KD comes back saying “don’t worry we researched fully and it’s all fine”
Like i listened to these guys back in high school, i had all the meji albums on CD, i still listen to Stancyk and remember their Oboreru Sakana as being one of the best debuts i’ve ever seen in vkei
I don’t want anyone to do worse, especially not some of my favourite musicians who’ve made a return somehow even after their main bands ended, who’ve put special priority on bringing their music to my country! That’s the furthest opposite of what i should hope to ‘cancel’…
So it’s with a heavy heart i’ve got to say, even so, fan safety is more important to me, minors not being persuaded into sexualization they don’t understand is more important to me, as much as i’ve liked these artists myself.
Please note i’m still not ready to say things like “he’s done xxx to someone” and am still wrapping it in being allegations, and all i’ll talk about is his PVs & IG stories i’ve seen. I’m still waiting for what KD ends up finding, since with it being an unrelated person reporting for an alleged victim who allegedly disavows them, there’s lots of confusion that could be taking place.
TL;DR wouldn’t it be so amazing to hear nobody got hurt and this was all for nothing, i would love that so much
naive is much MUCH better than apathetic. And law can be unfair and corrupted. Putting morality on the hands of (modern as we know it ) law is actually absolutely crazy.
And it doesn’t represent the world we live in because! people have been silenced and silent for such a long time.
The previous comment wasn’t saying that the " naive " comments weren’t changing anything, it was saying that Yoshiatsu wasn’t wrong by the way.
Like, why does it bother so much a random that another random give a ( usually well founded and grouned ) opinion on a forum ? why silencing others ?
So many cases also showed that random people raising their voices against unfair judgements given by law actually changed things ( for a short term or unique situation, and because of shaming the system, not because the person in care of the decision had a surge of lucidity I agree with this one. But at the end of the day, the whole thing still changed for the good. )
I can do a thing about it : calling it out and maybe just maybe influencing on a way or another a random person reading a comment and bringing awareness.
Being silent is being okay with it by the way. Apathy and being gray doesn’t work anymore in this modern life. You’re either with or against.
PS : I dislike that it’s impacting the other bands he’s from because as much as we know the members didn’t do anything ( and some of them are my most favourite artists from VK ever ), but in this case his shitty and predatory are impossible to get over. It’d make me sad if they ended up disbanding but if they didn’t it would still impact the band’s popularity and other members as well. In this case he can only blame himself.
Heck, i’m not here to be the social justice warrior ( yes even after the long ass comment ) or to change people’s mind ( a bit maybe ), I’m just pissed because I just gave an opinion and shared a simple comment on a random forum and someone told me my opinion was ridiculous and called bullshit. i’m. out of here.
I’m honestly so tired of the behavior of some Japanese visual kei men, tbh. After being in this fandom for so long, it’s impossible to ignore all the scandals that have happened over the years.
Sadly, the problem goes much deeper than just a few individuals. Japan, in general, still has deeply rooted issues with how women are viewed and treated, and that’s not something that’s going to change overnight.
All people can really do in the meantime is keep telling their stories, even if it hurts some fans to hear.
I mean, many guys in VK have been kicked from their bands for fucking fans. This isn’t just our foreigner will being imposed on them. The other members of Drugs can deliberate for themselves whether they’re okay with Yoshiatsu fucking fans.
Either way, here are more screenshots. This time, a supposed friend of Emma (the 16 year old leaker), explaining her side of the story, because Emma herself doesn’t want to come off private and get dogpiled.
I think you are looking at this from the wrong angle. Why is a band kicking out a member in such cases? Because if the audience is not paying anymore to see the band because of the shitty behavior of a member, the band will end.
In a lot of cases there will be enough fans who don’t care, see Arlequin.
But when people “cancel” someone it’s saying “I won’t support this bad person anymore”. Nobody can actively force the band but the amount of people being fed up with Yoshiatsu will probably influence if the others think, they have a chance to continue. It’s surely more often a business decision than a moral one.
And there are bands without any scandal. Not everyone is an asshole, luckily. If you don’t want to risk your career, maybe just don’t do questionable stuff. It’s not that hard. Humans are not slaves to their hormones.
Yeah, and some guys have been kicked out for smoking weed… Japan is a bit overreacting over things while underreacting over anothers, that’s something I will never understand from my foreigner pov lol.

You’d be surprised… there are a lot of unspoken things for the sake of the “business”. Until someone speaks or someone left.
In the end, this situation makes me feel sorry for the other members of DRUGS and Fukuro, who are now in a precarious position. I’ve always thought it was Genki’s best current project, and this messes up their plans. I even thought we’d have DRUGS in Spain in the future.
I know it’s not the best thing to ask just now, but to avoid what happened before in similar situations, when having different versions of statements in different languages. Is there a way to confirm that the Japanese version is similar to the english one?
